Is a physical address required for accounts that are located outside of the U.S.?
In addition to a physical address being a U.S. law, it is Benchmark Email's policy that all campaigns sent, include a physical address. This is considered good email marketing practice and will help reduce possible spam complaints, as well as complying with the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003.
Why is a physical address required in my email?
On January 1, 2004, the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 went into effect. One of the requirements of this new legislation is that all email communications include the physical address of the sender. The physical address should be the mailing address for your business. This can include P.O. Boxes. To update the address in your Benchmark Email account, click on My Account > My Account Settings.
