How to Add an Opt-out or Opt-in link in your Email Campaign

Drag & Drop Editor Updated on April 28, 2022

Giving your recipients a way to Opt-in or Opt-out can build trust and engagement. Giving them this option is not only essential it is a beneficiary to your business.

When contacts are not interested in receiving your emails why keep sending emails to them? Not only will they lower your open rate, but they will also lower your sending score since ISP’s keep track of this data.

Let them go and invite in those who really want to hear from you. By also adding an Opt-in link you’ll learn who wants to receive your emails and create another list only of those who have opted in.

Using Merge Tags

You can add merge tags in your emails to allow your recipients to reconfirm their interest or unsubscribe from the current mailing list. Create an email using the Drag and Drop editor, and select the contact list you want the Opt-in/out link in.

To learn how to add these links, please follow the steps below.

Reconfirm: Opt-in
  1. From the blocks column, on the editor step, add a button from the blocks column into the workspace.
  2. Select the button and locate the content block on the left.
  3. Under the content block, change the button text to [opt-in: text you wish to add]
  4. This merge tag can also be used in the text.
  5. Preview the email campaign to see how the link will show up in the campaign once sent.

add an Opt-Out or Opt-In link into your Email

Note: The merge tag should be used in a sentence/text or as the button text and not in the link block, because there is a unique link generated for each subscriber.
