Master Unsubscribe List
When recipients unsubscribe from your email, our system automatically filters them out from your list’s and adds them to your account’s Master Unsubscribe List. Contacts in the Master Unsubscribe list cannot be removed from the list. They became inactive contacts, and from that point forward, our system will not send emails to them again. Because we are compliant with the Can-Spam Act, we ensure every email sent contains an unsubscribe

Why Is It Mandatory That the Unsubscribe Link Be Placed in the Footer?
In order to comply with the CAN-SPAM Act, recipients must be given at least one unsubscribe link in every email correspondence sent. Benchmark Email ensures this is followed by automatically inserting an unsubscribe link in the footer of all newsletters that are sent through our system.

Why is a contact still receiving my emails even though they have opted-out?
When a contact selects the "unsubscribe" link in your email, they are directed to the "Manage Subscription" page. This is where they will uncheck all boxes for any list they may be on. They are then automatically moved to the Master Unsubscribe List.
