How do I insert a document into an Email?

Create Updated on May 27, 2011

Unfortunately attachments are not allowed in emails as firewalls and security software can prevent a bulk email to be successfully sent with an attachment.  Since emails need to be downloaded to view, this poses a security threat to you and your viewers.  Benchmark Email provides an alternative and offer to host your files and allow your contacts to download them via Benchmark servers.

To upload files in your Document Library and link to them in your Emails, please follow the steps listed below:

  1. Begin by logging into your Benchmark account and create a new email
  2. Continue until you get to the Drag & Drop editor
  3. Using any block that allows text, click on the Insert Document button in the top toolbar
  4. Upload a new file or click insert on one of the existing files to link to.

The maximum size file is 5mb and the support file types are the following:

.jpeg, .jpg, .gif, .png, .zip, .doc, .rtf, .pdf, .xlxs, .xls, .txt, .docx, .odt, .ics, .csv, .ppsx

We also integrate with Digioh!  Track and get analytics for your files. Sign up for a Free Digioh account here.
