How To Integrate Twitter with Benchmark

With the Benchmark Email Twitter integration, you can email your Benchmark contacts your most recent tweets using our Benchmark Email Twitter template Integration and publish any campaign as a tweet. Additionally, you can add a Benchmark signup form to your Twitter profile.

Post your Benchmark Email as a tweet on Twitter

To share your emails as tweets, you’ll need to connect your Twitter account; this can be done in the Link Tracking & Sharing step of the email creation process or on the Integration page. After you’ve completed the integration, you’ll be able to select Twitter, and your email will be automatically posted to your Twitter account.

To connect your Benchmark emails to your Twitter account, follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to your Benchmark account.
  2. From the user menu, select Integrations.
  3. Scroll down and locate the Twitter option with the description: Automatically share your email on Twitter when a campaign is sent.
  1. Authorize Benchmark Email to access your Twitter account by clicking Authorize app.
  1. After authorizing, you’ll be redirected to the Integrations page in your Benchmark account. Scroll down to see your Twitter integration status as Connected.

You are now ready to publish your emails as a tweet on Twitter.

CONSIDER

By clicking on the more options icon, you can Disconnect or Test Connection.

To post your Benchmark emails to your Twitter account, follow the steps below:
  1. Log into your Benchmark account, select a draft or an incomplete email or create a new one.
  2. In the checklist, scroll down to the Link Tracking & Sharing options. Click on Edit.
  3. Enable the Twitter option. The toggle should go from gray to blue.

Continue editing your email. When ready, send your campaign to your selected contact list.

CONSIDER

Your email will post to your Twitter account within minutes of being sent. You will see the email title and a link to your email’s web page version on Twitter.

Share tweets in your emails

This integration allows you to share 5 of your most recent tweets in an email. The integration process started from the Design (in Layouts) step of the email creation process or on the Integration page.

To share your recent tweets in an email, follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to your Benchmark account.
  2. From the user menu, select Integrations.
  3. Scroll down and locate the Twitter option with the description: Share your 5 most recent posts in an email campaign.
  1. Authorize Benchmark Email to access your Twitter account by clicking Authorize app.
  1. After authorizing, you’ll be redirected to the Integrations page in your Benchmark account. Scroll down to see your Twitter integration status as Connected.

You are now ready to use the Twitter template and share your 5 most recent tweets!

CONSIDER

By clicking on the more options icon, you can Disconnect or Test Connection.

To use the Twitter email template, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Benchmark account.
  2. Select Emails from the dashboard menu and then click on Emails.
  3. Click on the Create New Email button.
  4. Select Regular Email and the Drag & Drop Editor on the next page.
  5. Add a name to your email. The email name is only visible to you.
  6. On the Layouts page, select the Templates tab.
  7. Filter for Integrations and select Twitter, then select the Twitter template. By default, you will see 5 of your most recent tweets listed in your email.
  1. Personalize any default text in your email. When done, schedule your email for sending.

Adding tweets to an email without the integration

You can also add a Twitter post to an email or a landing page without using the Benchmark Email integration. Here’s how.

  1. Locate the tweet you want to post to your email campaign.
  2. Click on the more options icon and select Embed Tweet from the dropdown menu.
  1. When prompted, click on the Copy Code option.
  1. In your Benchmark account, go to the email or landing page where you want to add the tweet.
  2. Drag in a text block or open an existing text block.
  3. From the toolbox options, click on the Source Code icon.
  1. Paste the copied code and click Save & Close. You will see the post in your campaign.

Continue editing your design, and publish or send when ready.

Add a Benchmark signup form to your Twitter profile

This Twitter integration allows you to add a Benchmark signup form to your Twitter profile. We recommend using two browser windows for this integration, one for Benchmark and another for Twitter.

CONSIDER

Before you begin, you will need to create a signup form in your Benchmark account. Click here to learn here how to create an email signup form.

Step 1: Get your signup form link
  1. Log in to your Benchmark account.
  2. From the user menu, select Integrations.
  1. Scroll down and locate the Twitter option with the description: Add a Benchmark signup form link to your Twitter profile.
  2. Click the Generate URL button.
  1. Select an existing signup form. The signup form’s URL will display in the box below.
  2. Copy the entire URL.
Step 2: Paste the signup form link on Twitter.
  1. In another window, log in to your Twitter account.
  2. From the left panel, select Profile.
  3. Click the Edit profile button located below the header.
  1. You can now paste your signup form link in the Bio or website box.

Bio box

We recommend pasting your signup form link in the Bio box, where you can add text inviting your followers to subscribe to your content.

Website box

To paste your signup form here, you will have to shorten your signup form’s URL. This is because the website field only allows you up to 100 characters. Your signup form link may have more than 100 characters. You can not add text to invite your followers to subscribe in the website box. Additionally, you will have to use an external service to shorten the signup form’s URL.

Disconnect Twitter from Benchmark

You can also disconnect any of the Twitter integrations on the Integrations page within your account.To disconnect:

  1. Select Integrations from your Username.
  2. Locate the Twitter integration you want to disconnect.
  3. Click on the More Options icon and select Disconnect.
