Where Can I Change the From Email Address?

When you first sign up to a Benchmark account, we use your primary email address as your From and Reply email. However, if this is not the email you would like to use to send from, you can easily add another. You can add a new email address directly from the Email Checklist page, or you can go to the Email Verification page to add multiple email addresses.

For best results, Benchmark suggests using your company or business domain instead of a personal email address like Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, and Outlook. Doing so may hurt your delivery rates. To learn why you should avoid sending from a public domain, click here.

Email Checklist

Probably the first place you realize you want to change the From or Reply email address is when you are setting up your email campaign. Follow the steps below to see how to add or change the From or reply email.

  1. Once logged into your Benchmark account, click on Emails.
  2. Select Emails.
  3. Choose the email you would like to change the From address.
  4. Scroll down to the From section and click the Edit button.

  1. Enter a name in the From Name section. Benchmark suggests using something your subscribers will instantly recognize, like your company name.
  2. In the From Email Address section, click on the dropdown arrow to select from the available email addresses.
  3. To add a new email, click the Add a new email address link.
  4. In the popup provided, enter a new email address.
  5. When done, click the Send Verification Email option.
  6. You’ll now see a message: Verification email sent. Check your inbox to confirm your email address.

  1. Check your inbox, and click on the Verify This Email Address link.

  1. Once verified, the popup in your email checklist will disappear.
To change your Reply email address, toggle the slider from gray to blue. Then click on the dropdown to select another reply email address. Click Save when done.

 

Email Verification Page

Another option for adding new From or Reply email addresses is the Email Verification page. Here you can add multiple emails. Follow the steps below to add new email addresses.

  1. Click on your account name and select Account Settings.
  2. From the left menu, click Email Verification.
  3. Click on the Add Email option.
  4. In the popup provided, enter an email address. If you are adding more than one email, hit enter after each address.
  5. Click the Send Verification Email option.
  6. You’ll now see a message: Confirmation emails have been sent. 
  7. When done, exit the popup. You’ll now see the new email addresses with a pending verification status.

  1. Check your inbox, and click on the Verify This Email Address link.
  2. Once verified, their status will change to Verified.
  3. If you don’t receive the email, try using the Resend option.

 

Important

  • Accounts have a limit of 100 verified emails and are further limited to verifying 20 emails a day.
  • If you are not receiving Verification Email, please send an email to our support team from the email address you’d like to verify. Make sure to include your account username.
  • As a precautionary step, if you need to remove a verified email address, please send an email to our support team from the primary email address of your account. In the email include your username and the emails you’d to remove.
