Why is a physical address required in my email?

On January 1, 2004, the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 went into effect. One of the requirements of this new legislation is that all email communications include the physical address of the sender.

The physical address should be the mailing address for your business. This can include P.O. Boxes. To update the address in your Benchmark Email account, click on My Account > My Account Settings.

All the templates offered in Benchmark Email will allow you the option to edit the address while you are in Step 4 of the Editor. Click on the edit icon located in the upper left corner of your campaign to modify the information (see below).
