The preview pane is what allows a user to scroll through and read an email while also being able to view their list of emails in the inbox.

When a subscriber uses the reading or preview pane to view an email instead of completely opening it, it may cause the email address to appear several times as an "open" in your report. Please keep this in mind if you see an email address listed more than once in your open report.
