Account Security Overview
At Benchmark Email, we take a multi-layered approach to security, covering Physical, Network, Host, Software, and Application levels. While we limit the amount of detail we disclose publicly to prevent misuse, we believe it’s important for our customers to understand the core measures we have in place.
- Benchmark Email servers are hosted within private networks and protected by multiple firewalls.
- Network-based intrusion detection systems monitor for suspicious activity.
- All sensitive data (such as login and payment information) is transmitted using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption. Customers can verify SSL protection by checking their browser’s address bar.
- A dedicated security team ensures timely updates, patches, and fixes for vulnerabilities.
- Network usage logs are analyzed for irregularities, and any red flags are immediately addressed.
- Infrastructure access is restricted to a small group of authorized users with strong password requirements (minimum character length, case sensitivity, and regular expiration).
- Non-essential ports and services are disabled. Access policies are strictly enforced, and alerts are in place for unusual server activity.
- Our development process follows strict Quality Assurance standards, with all core system changes reviewed by senior engineers.
- Code changes are source-controlled and regularly audited to strengthen security.
- Third-party vendors, such as McAfee, perform security vulnerability scans. Identified issues are prioritized and resolved promptly.
Application Level Security
- User accounts are secured with unique usernames and passwords, which are never displayed on the site.
- All login pages use SSL encryption to protect data in transit.
- API access is safeguarded against brute-force attacks.
We’re committed to maintaining the highest security standards to protect your data and provide reliable service. For more details, please review our Terms of Use and other policies available on our website.
