Why do you use bmsend.com instead of benchmarkemail.com & what is it exactly?

Reports Updated on August 6, 2018

Bmsend.com is the domain name used for Clients/Customers Benchmark Email Authentication for outbound mails. Benchmark Email Authentication here means to sign each mail with digital signatures to avoid forgery or spoofing of outgoing mails. The digital signatures comply properly with the Domain Keys & DKIM [Domain Keys Identified Mail] protocols / standards.

To enable customers for Benchmark Email Authentication, a unique sub-domain is created under the main domain "bmsend.com." This sub-domain will be published in our DNS servers having unique authentication credentials for that customer. Please note that the domain "bmsend.com" should not be used in the "From" address field. Rather it is used in the "Sender" header field only.

Let us take an example of Benchmark Email itself for our monthly newsletters.

Example: Sender: "Benchmark Email" support_benchmarkemail.com@benchmark.bmsend.com

A unique sub-domain "benchmark" is created under the main domain "bmsend.com" for authentication on all the outgoing mails for the Benchmark Email account.
